§ 2-205. Performance and Payment Bonds.
A contractor or vendor shall provide a surety bond from a surety company to guarantee full and faithful performance of a contract obligation and the payment of labor and material expended pursuant to a contract whenever, and in such amounts, as required by statute or otherwise as deemed necessary by the Procurement Services Director. An irrevocable letter of credit from a financial institution operating within the State of Florida (or other alternative forms of surety as permitted under Florida law) may be sufficient in place of the performance bond if so provided for in the bid and contract documents. All such bonds or letters of credit shall be approved as to form by the County Attorney, and held by the Clerk's Board Minutes and Records Department.
